We are thrilled to partner with three of the most innovative companies in Ireland as their Charity of the Year Partner for 2017. We will work alongside Fujitsu Ireland, Specsavers and Insurance Ireland to create more inclusive work places, increase awareness around blindness and vision impairment and raise vital funds for our life changing sight loss services nationally.
Fujitsu Ireland
Over the next two years NCBI and Fujitsu Ireland will focus on four key areas;
- Reducing the 84% unemployment rate among working age people with sight loss
- Providing blind and vision impaired people with the skills they need to enter the workforce
- Creating a more inclusive work environment
- Raising vital funds to support the delivery of NCBI services nationally
Specsavers Ireland
We are delighted to welcome Specsavers Ireland into the NCBI family. Specsavers are now the proud Headline sponsor of the NCBI Specsavers HolmPatrick Cup. Together NCBI & Specsavers will focus on the following areas over the next 12 months:
- Eye Health
- Fundraising
- Community Engagement
NCBI and Specsavers are working together to transform the nations eye health and defend against avoidable sight loss
Research shows that up to 75% of blindness is preventable [1]. Despite this, more that 50% of people in Ireland are not having their eyes tested at least once every two years. As a result many people are unknowingly living with sight-threatening conditions.
Our partnership with Specsavers aims to educate people about eye health and to raise awareness of how regular eye tests can help reduce avoidable sight loss. We can also provide practical support and emotional reassurance for those who have been diagnosed with various eye conditions.

2017 marked the year of Inclusion for Insurance Ireland and we were thrilled to partner with the voice of insurance in Ireland to support them in increasing inclusiveness within the industry. Together NCBI and Insurance Ireland focused on
