As part of the government’s strategy to increase access and use of online platforms and services, The Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment launched a programme called Getting Citizens Online in 2017.
NCBI has been involved in the programme from the beginning and this year has partnered with Age Action in order to deliver training in Digital Skills to adults and older people living with sight loss.
2017 saw NCBI train over 400 people and we hope to provide training to a further 200 non-liners in 2018.
Classes are offered in small groups through our team of IT Trainers and Community Resource Workers. Topics covered include; searching the web, use of Apps, online shopping, and email.
If you or a family member living with sight loss believe this type of support would be beneficial, please contact your regional office for further information.
