Prevalence of sight loss

Summary: There are currently over 15,000 people using the services offered by the NCBI. Of this figure, more than half (58%) are over retirement age. People of working age, 18-65 years of age, amount to 34% and 8% of our service users are children up to the age of 17 years.

There are slightly more females than males using the NCBI services.

The majority of people using the NCBI services are not blind, in fact 95% of the people who use our service have some useful vision.
