Minister of State for OPW , Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran swapped the Dail for the catwalk …but only for one day!.
The Westmeath based Politician jumped at the chance to have a fashion makeover courtesy of the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI).
He was decked out in clothes from the NCBI charity shop in Athlone, all for the princely sum of €60.
In fact he loved the suit he donned so much he bought it!.
“I am wearing it at the minute around Athlone and I love it!. I was astounded by the quality, the value and the variety in the NCBI shop. “I am delighted with this. I find it quite hard to find clothes to fit and I am thrilled with this find. I will be a regular from here on out!”
The genial Politician also revealed that he turned to selling during his time in the NCBI shop…
“Two friends of mine came in and saw pictures they would like and were quoted €10 for them; I made them pay €40”!.
“The fact is that the money spent in the NCBI shop helps fund the vital services provided to blind and visually impaired people”.
NCBI Shop Manager Mary Butler said “It was great dressing Boxer, he was easy to work with and didn’t display any supermodel behaviour”!
All in a day’s work!
