The National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI) shop in Moate Co. Westmeath is celebrating a brisk year in business ,marking it’s first year in business today.

The busy shop, managed by Marion O’ Shea and a dedicated team of volunteers ,has become the by word for good quality items at good value prices.

Looking back over the past year ,Marion says “ It’s been a great year for us here in Moate . People are so loyal and generous to us ,both in terms of shopping and giving. There is a great community spirit and we are embedded now in the town so it is very positive”.

“People know of the very valuable work of the NCBI and recognise that the charity’s chain of shops play a vital and integral part in the  overall fundraising efforts, allowing the national sight loss agency to provide vital life changing services to 6,000 people each year”.

“Our shops are rightly and widely recognised for providing top quality items, at excellent prices for an excellent cause”.

Marion, together with volunteers and customers marked the occasion with copious cups of tea and cakes!
