The first ever model transport show in aid of the NCBI is taking place in Letterkenny this coming Sunday ( October 8th ) .
The show, which is taking place in the Radisson Blu Hotel from 10am, is being organised by well known business man Raymond Holmes from Raphoe, together with Fintan Smith whose Sister in Law is blind.
Model scale tractors, lorries, trams and trains will be on display on the day and those attending the event will have the opportunity to enjoy remote controlled vehicles in operation .
Judging by the public’s response Raymond believes the event will be the first of many.
The Donegal businessman , who owns a busy shop dealing in model transport says “ The public response has been fantastic , there has been huge reaction .It’s a great occasion to bring people with the same interests together and added to this is the fact that the money is going to a great cause. It’s not about making money for us, it’s about making money for the NCBI. They are doing amazing work and given the numbers of people with sight loss in Donegal we felt it was a most deserving charity”.
Admission to the event is €5.
There are 2,006 people living with sight loss in Co. Donegal.
