Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) students from Mullingar Community College recently made a joint presentation to the National Council for the Blind of Ireland and Crumlin Children’s Hospital following their annual charity event.

Beauty Therapy and Childcare students, alongside their teachers, organised a Halloween themed coffee morning and a special charity day commercial salon. This year’s fundraiser beat previous year’s records with €1,650 raised, a fantastic achievement!

Aileen Aherne ( NCBI support worker) had provided informative workshops creating awareness of the needs of those with a visual impairment. This activity assisted students with their customer service module regarding how to meet the diverse needs of people who may use their salon or childcare facilities in the future. Because of this students were especially delighted to raise much needed funds for the NCBI.
