NCBI’s Desert Classic Cycle to the United Arab Emirates — Fundraising Never Sounded So Good

NCBI announces its forthcoming fundraising event, the Desert Classic Cycle, which will take place this coming Spring from 27th March to 7th April 2009. The Desert Classic Cycle will go right to the heart of the spectacular United Arab Emirates, taking in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and finishing in the sultanate of Oman.

The highlights of the trip include journeying through rugged mountain landscapes, seeing spectacular shorelines, encountering rich wildlife and experiencing the magic of starlit Arabian nights.

The Classic Cycle challenge will take you firstly to Dubai, known as the pearl of the Arabian Gulf, a place that combines the timeless tranquillity of the desert, the bustle of the souk and history of times gone by. Continuing on to Fujairah, a coastal Emirate with a breathtaking mountain backdrop, cyclists will enjoy beautiful beaches and hot water springs. Upon arriving in Abu Dhabi, participants can soak in the atmosphere of the cosmopolitan city in the year-round sunshine. Finally, cyclists will reach their last port of call, Oman, with its rich and diverse wildlife, providing all with a gripping sensation of adventure, exploration and discovery to end their journey on a natural high.

To register for the 2009 Desert Classic Cycle and to secure your place on the event, a non-refundable deposit of €500 is required and a commitment from each participant to raise a total of at least €4,800. The more you raise, the more we can invest in funding vital services to more than 13,000 people who are blind or vision impaired in Ireland.
