Guide Rails Give Blind Bowlers More Independence in their Sport

Irish Blind Sports would like to thank coaches Jim and Mary Harding for building new guide rails to allow blind bowlers more independence during participation. Mise Eire, the ten pin bowling group based in Bray has seen a steady increase in blind bowlers over the past few years. The increase in numbers meant that one guide rail was simply not enough to allow bowlers get through their games quickly. By building two new guide rails, blind bowlers are able to find their way independently to their lane without a sighted guide. Mise Eire will travel to Prague for a competition in early September. The team includes 15 bowlers, two coaches and several assistants.

Congratulations

Irish Blind Sports would like to congratulate its golfing coordinator, Jimmy Murray on placing 12th in the World Blind Golf Champsionship that was held in Belfast this past August. Well done Jimmy!
