Sad passing of NCBI staff

All staff in NCBI were deeply saddened with the recent deaths of Diane Kenny and Ann Callaly.

Diane joined NCBI almost five years ago and worked as a Clerical Officer alongside the Cork team in Plunkett Chambers, before moving up to the Ballincollig Office. Diane’s warm personality and relaxed manner made an invaluable contribution to our work and a huge impact on the lives of those she came into contact with.

Ann joined NCBI more than 9 years ago and worked as PA to NCBI Chief Executive Des Kenny. Ann’s bubbly personality made a lasting and unforgettable contribution to her work in NCBI.

Outside of work, both Diane and Ann were very active and spent a lot of time with family and friends. They will be sincerely missed by everyone in NCBI.

A message from our Chief Executive, Des Kenny:

“There is always a great sadness surrounding the death of any person close to us. There is however something especially poignant about the death of young people in the prime of life. Recently we have had to reconcile ourselves to the deaths of two dear colleagues, Dianne Kenny and Ann Callaly who will leave their own voids in the lives of those of us who worked closely with them.”
