NCBI officially opens its Drogheda store

11th July 2019, the National Council for the Blind Ireland (NCBI) is delighted to celebrate the further expansion of its retail shops with the official opening of its store in Drogheda, Co. Louth with the help of RTE Sports Presenter, Darragh Maloney.

NCBI is proud to have over 100 shops across the country and continues to be the second largest charity shop chain in the country. NCBI’s chain of shops play a vital and integral part in the charity’s overall fundraising efforts, allowing the national sight loss agency to provide vital life changing services to over 6,000 people each year.

Chris White, NCBI CEO said “we are delighted to have a store in Drogheda and hope the NCBI store will become a cornerstone of the community as it has in so many other communities across the country. We are heartened to see the ongoing growth of our stores which in turn enable us to offer a suite of services to those who are visually impaired.  By supporting our shops, customers not only generate funds for our services but also support the drive for more environmentally friendly and sustainable fashion and furniture.”

The Drogheda shop sells quality ladies, gents and children’s clothing as well as extensive range of furniture. All donations are gratefully received. Furniture collection can also be arranged.

Mr White added “Today our dedicated retail website www.retail.ncbi.ie also goes live allowing customers to see the breadth of stock, ranging from specialists bridal shops, dedicated vintage departments and details on where our shops are located”.
