NCBI RETAIL REACHES MILESTONE WITH THE OPENING OF 100TH CHARITY SHOP

The National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI)has opened its 100th charity shop, reflecting the growing strength of the charity’s  brand.

The opening of the store in Main St, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan comes as the charity enjoys a period of rapid growth and is now firmly positioned as the second largest charity shop chain in the country.

NCBI’s chain of shops play a vital and integral part in the charity’s overall fundraising efforts, allowing the national sight loss agency to provide vital life changing services to 6,000 people each year.

Ruairi McGinley, NCBI Director of Corporate Services says “We are delighted to have opened our 100th NCBI retail store. Our nationwide network of shops play a pivotal role in the vital fundraising efforts which enable NCBI provide  services to the 6,000 people with sight loss, and their families, each year. Not only are the services life changing, they are life affirming and holistic”.

He goes on to say “NCBI needs to raise €4 out of every €10 it spends on services so the success of our retail shops is crucial”.

“Our shops are rightly and widely recognised for providing top quality items, at excellent prices and we look forward to welcoming the many new customers to our 100th store in Carrickmacross Co. Monaghan. Given the shops high profile locations, throughout the country, they also provide very important visibility for NCBI, allowing people to gather information on NCBI and the services we offer”.

The latest retail addition in Carrickmacross stocks ladies ,gents and kids clothes, bric a brac and books and welcomes donations.
