If you are a musician who wishes to read Braille music notation, a parent who wishes to support your blind child’s musical studies, a teacher of music who wishes to know more, or just someone who is interested in accessible music for people who are blind, then this day is for you.
INBAF, the Irish National Association for Alternative Formats is delighted to present this one day workshop ‘Dynamic Dots’, which will introduce you to the basics of Braille Music, and create a space for discussions around support of learning the code.
The workshop will be presented by Maeve Smith, a music teacher of people who are blind or vision impaired, with over 30 years’ experience in the area, and the author of ‘A Course in Braille Music’ and Stuart Lawler, a blind musician and user of Braille music and technology to make music accessible.
The cost to attend is €5.00, which includes lunch. For further information, or to reserve your place, please contact Stuart Lawler on 087 9926360 or email stuart.lawler@ncbi.ie.
