White Cane Day 2010

International White Cane Day takes place this year on the 15th October. This day aims to celebrate independence and opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired and their right to participate fully in society. The white cane is a tool that is a key to greater mobility and independence for people who are blind and have low vision but it is also a reminder of our commitment to removing barriers, both physically and attitudinal.
