Release Date: Apr 28th, 2006
The annual Holmpatrick Cup, the All Ireland fourball challenge, which is now in its 74th year, is underway again and you could be only three steps away from playing in the final in the home of golf, St. Andrews in Scotland.
Club qualifiers take place before the end of June 2006, followed by county and provincial finals, before the final in October. There is still time for clubs to enter, all you have to do is organise a dedicated fourball competition or run it in conjunction with an existing club competition, with a one-off entry fee of €5 per person.
The Holmpatrick Cup is a golf fundraiser for the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI), which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2006. NCBI provides a range of services to almost 10,000 vision impaired people living in Ireland. Services include the provision of mobility training, information and counselling, as well as employment and adaptive technology services to support independent living.
