See the Dublin Port Tunnel first with charity run for NCBI

Release Date: Nov 29th, 2006

The Dublin Port Tunnel will open on Sunday 10th December for a unique 10K charity run. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to run through the tunnel before its official opening on 20th December.

Dublin Port Tunnel is the longest urban road tunnel in Europe, at 4.5km and will take heavy goods vehicles away from the city centre. The race will start at the East Wall, run the length of one tunnel before emerging at Santry and returning through the other tunnel.

Only 10,000 people can take part in the run so register now to guarantee your place. Entry costs €25 and can be completed online at www.activeeurope.com

Runners are advised to use public transport to reach the starting line at East Wall, Dublin 3, which can be accessed by Clontarf Dart station or by bus to Fairview Strand. Starting time is 11am.

Every finisher will receive a beautifully engraved souvenir medallion and a special commemorative t-shirt.

Once you have completed online registration, contact NCBI for your sponsorship card and t-shirt. Contact Eleanor Kirwan on 01 8821925 or email eleanor.kirwan@ncbi.ie
