The National Concert Hall Improves Accessibility with First Ever Audio Calendar of Events

The National Concert Hall is pleased to announce the launch of is very first audio calendar of events. The calendar, which facilitates easy access to information about upcoming events at the National Concert Hall, is especially designed with blind and visually impaired patrons in mind. The first issue details events from September 1st to December 31st 2007 and is available free of charge, in CD and cassette format, from the National Concert Hall. It can also be accessed and listened to on-line at www.nch.ie and there will also be Braille copies available (while stock lasts).

Director of the National Concert Hall, Judith Woodworth, comments; “Here at the National Concert Hall, we are constantly striving to improve access to live music for all and the launch of our new audio calendar of events is an important step in that process. Appreciation and enjoyment of live music performance is an important part of our heritage. It is our aim that with this audio calendar access to music performance will be improved and encouraged, ensuring that people of all ages and abilities feel equally welcome to attend performances here at Ireland’s premier music venue.”

This will be of great benefit to the many visually impaired people who visit the National Concert Hall. With the availability of the calendar in audio and Braille, visually impaired people will be able to plan their trips to the National Concert Hall in advance.”
