The Macular Disease Society is holding a conference on macular degeneration: Saturday 4th April in Belfast.
Did you know that Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of age related sight loss in the western world. It is also an increasingly common form of sight loss in Ireland and is thought to affect one in ten people over the age of fifty.
This one-day conference focuses the nutrition and macular degeneration, keeping fit and macular degeneration as well as updates on treatments for the condition.
The conference will offer you:
- a chance to hear and ask questions of leading medical experts on the latest research on macular conditions
- get an update on the activities and campaigning of the Macular Disease Society
- meet other people with macular degeneration – old friends and new friends, share stories and advice.
Who should attend?
The conference is a must-attend event for any of the following:
- People with macular degeneration, their friends and families,
- Eye health professionals including eye clinic staff, optometrists, opticians
- rehabilitation officers, nursing staff supporting older people and
- all those from voluntary organisations supporting people with sight loss or older people.
