The NCBI Ski Challenge for 2011 is heading to the stress-free environment of St. Johann in the Tyrolean area of Austria on the 12th February for a week of skiing, camaraderie, beautiful scenery and above all, great fun. Join us on this rewarding and eventful trip.
This is an annual event which has taken place since 1993 with Topflight, The Ski Club of Ireland and 2fm. It is primarily aimed at creating an opportunity for people with impaired vision and people with full sight to enjoy a ski holiday together. Participants who are blind or have impaired vision require one-to-one guidance on the slopes (provided by qualified instructors) while others attend ski school or go it alone!
Sighted participants are asked to ‘Buddy’ up with the vision impaired skiers. This means giving sighted guide assistance, as required, to & from ski meeting points, meals and the many other non-ski related activites that take place during the week.
If you like swishing down the slopes, making new friends and enjoy the craic, why not join us on our trip to St. Johann in Tirol in February, 2011. Beginner, intermediate and experienced skiers are all welcome.
