We are delighted to announce this year’s Pre College Course, which will be held at NCBI’s Rehabilitation Training Centre, in mid-August.
Course Aims
The course aims to prepare participants for entry to third level or further education. It offers practical advice and useful information, and will allow participants to meet other people with sight loss.
What’s covered?
Areas covered include:
- Budgeting and money management
- Preparing for academic life – what you need to know
- Using assistive technology at college – strategies for success
- Independent living skills – healthy meal preparation
In addition, a number of speakers will give first-hand accounts about their own experiences of college life.
Course Structure
Delivery takes place over a 1.5 day period, with lots of time for questions and group discussion, while at the same time, making sure that your individual needs are met.
Cost
Participation on the course costs €50, which includes lunch on both days, and one evening meal on the first night. We are not in a position to fund accommodation costs for those people living outside Dublin, but we can assist finding a suitable place to stay.
