eircom and NCBI launch newly designed special directory enquiries form
eircom working in conjunction with NCBI (National Council for the Blind of Ireland) today announced details of a newly designed Special Directory enquiries application form.
The re-designed form has been created to improve the accessibility of the service for people with sight loss. The new lay-out makes it much easier for people with a sensory disability to complete the form.
Commenting on the announcement, Phil Suffield, Head of Operator Services with eircom said, “eircom is committed to making our communications products as accessible as possible to all our customers. We have worked very closely with the NCBI in recent months to tailor our services to meet the specific needs of their members and we believe this new application form is a very positive step.
Des Kenny, Chief Executive of NCBI said, “This is a vital service for people who are blind and vision impaired and cannot access the printed phone book. The re-designed form is an important step in ensuring that this service is fully accessible to those who are using it.”
This form is for new subscribers to the service, anyone already using the Special Directory Enquiries service need not complete a new form. Copies of the form are available in clear print from NCBI by calling 1850 334353. Additionally customers who have any queries or who require further information about the free directory service can contact the eircom Helpdesk on freephone 1800 574 574.
