Friday 21st November marks the inaugural annual VISPA (Vision Impaired Service Providers Alliance) Fun Braille Readathon. The event is being hosted by St. Joseph’s Centre for the Visually Impaired, one of VISPA’s members.
The idea behind the Readathon is to bring an element of fun to reading Braille, whilst also promoting it. All ages from Junior to Adult readers have a chance to participate in the event. Readers of Grade 1 and Grade 2 Braille are also catered for. A booklist has been compiled from which the readers’ selection can be made. On the day of the event, participants will be asked to read a selected passage from that text.
A surprise celebrity guest will also be making an appearance!
