Irish Blind Sports (Spring 2009)

May Games Notice

The 29th Annual May Games will take place on Friday 8th and Saturday, 9th May 2009 at the Aer Lingus Sports Club (ALSAA), Dublin Airport. Participants will have opportunities to compete in Athletics, Tenpin Bowling, B2/B3 Football, Cycling & Swimming . Activities Across Ireland

The IBS Call of Interest Meetings around Ireland are yielding results. New groups include walking and swimming in Cork, tandem cycling and winter spinning classes in Laois, walking in Waterford and athletics in Sligo. These meetings will continue in 2009 to enable more people who are blind and vision impaired to pursue their sport of choice. Ask your Community Resource Worker for information about a meeting near you.

Coordinators Needed

Irish Blind Sports is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated people to help us run our sporting activities across the country. We are presently seeking to recruit Sports Coordinators for: Tandem Cycling, Swimming, Water Skiing.

Paralions Athlete Search Day

Think you’ve got what it takes to go to the London 2012 Paralympics? IBS will be working with the Paralympics Council of Ireland this spring when it holds its Paralions Athlete Search Day. This event is aimed at young people and is sure to be fun for all those who attend. More information coming soon.
