Share your real life experiences of sight loss to help us to get our message across to the media.
NCBI’s wants to promote an understanding of the needs of people who are blind and vision impaired, raise awareness of NCBI services and raise much needed funds. To help us to do this, we need to use stories in the media to get coverage in national and regional newspapers, online, on the radio and television.
The media are always interested in real life experiences of people who are living with sight loss. Are you willing to help?

The Importance of Braille
As part of our celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, NCBI wants to raise awareness about our essential Braille book service as well as highlight the importance of Braille to Braille readers.

Awareness and Prevention of Sight Loss
If your sight has been reduced due to diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma or age-related macular degeneration (AMD), tell us your story so that we can use it in our campaigns for World Glaucoma Day, AMD Awareness Week and World Diabetes Day.
A simple eye test can reduce the chances of sight loss. The NCBI’s key message for our awareness campaigns on eye conditions is early detection. Early detection is vital in the fight against glaucoma, AMD and diabetic retinopathy and it is important to have regular eye exams.
We would particularly like to hear from you if your sight has been saved by a simple eye test or if a simple eye test would have prevented your reduction in sight.
