This years Adamstown 10k Road Race will take place on Saturday the 11th of September. NCBI are delighted to have been selected this year as one of Adamstown’s chosen charities.
The Adamstown 10k is an initiative of Adamstown Community Partnership and will help to raise much needed funds for the local schools, a local Lucan charity Pieta House and NCBI.
Des Kenny CEO of NCBI says, “Local and National Charities alike are facing problems of securing financial resources. We are delighted that the residents of Adamstown are supporting not only the local primary schools, a local charity Pieta House but also NCBI as their national charity.”
Linda Byrne winner of the Dublin City half Marathon will be one of this years leading competitors in the Adamstown 10k. Recently Linda met up with Senator David Norris and Dragons Den’s Sean Gallagher to learn of the wonderful work of NCBI. Both Senator Norris and Sean Gallagher are keen supporters of NCBI, and last year Sean nominated NCBI as the beneficiary of his winnings from RTE’s Celebrity Charity Lords of the Ring.
The race is the biggest annual community event in Adamstown and is intended both as a competitive race for committed club athletes and a fun-run for the casual runner and novices. This year’s event promises to be yet another great family day out, with over € 3,500 worth of prizes to be won for race winners and goody bags for all participants.
So whether you are walking, running or just spectating, get on board and help support NCBI and some great charities. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome.
