Your local support worker
Our nationwide network of local support workers provide a range of practical and emotional services to people with sight loss.
Often the first step to becoming independent again is to find out what’s out there and getting reassurance that there are solutions. We provide advice and information, which ranges from informing people about their eye condition and how it will affect their lives, to letting them know what support and services they can expect from NCBI and other organisations.
Your local support worker can talk to you and/or your family about your current situation, how sight loss is affecting your day-to-day life and what you would like to change, as well as your hopes and goals for the future. The impact of sight loss is explored at both practical and emotional level.
