Board of Directors
NCBI’s Board of Directors, under the Chairmanship of Kevin O’Boyle, is responsible for the total service of the organisation.
There are currently 16 members of NCBI’s Board of Directors drawn from around the country.
Inclusion
The Board of Directors shall endeavour to have at least 40% of the total membership of NCBI comprised of vision impaired persons.
Accountability
The Board of Directors produces audited accounts which are published through an Annual Report [2], and is responsible for preparing periodic corporate strategic plans [3].
The Board meets at least seven times per annum, although additional meetings are called as and when required.
Chairman
Our current Chairman, Kevin O’Boyle [4] was elected in June 2012, having joined the Board in 2011.
Senior Management Team
Chief Executive Officer
Our Chief Executive is responsible for the running of the day to day activities of the organisation.
Des Kenny [5] has been our CEO since November 1986.
Financial Controller
Our Financial Controller is responsible for NCBI’s accounting, taxation and financial analysis for all the organisation’s areas of operation.
Brian Friel joined NCBI as Financial Controller in early 2007.
Director of Services
Our Director of Services manages the delivery of NCBI services across the country.
Elaine Howley has been NCBI’s Director of Services since 2001.
Director of Human Resources
Our Director of Human Resources is responsible for guiding and managing the overall provision of human resources services, policies, and programs for the organisation. He is also responsible for guiding and co ordinating programme management and quality assurance activities
Séamus Wall joined NCBI as Director of Human Resources in June 2008.
Deputy Director of Services
Our Deputy Director of Services supports our Director of Services in managing and developing services througout the country.
Toni O’Dwyer has held this position since October 2007.
Library and Media Servies Manager
Our Library and Media Services Manager is reponsible for our Braille, large print and audio library and for providing media services to convert information into accessible formats.
Lina Kouzi has held this post since 2000.
