- Partners: Volunteering Ireland, the European Confederation on Employment of Disabled People, the Czech Blind Union, Peterborough College of Adult Education (UK), the Galician Confederation of People with Handicaps (Spain) and the Swedish Employment Service.
- Duration: October 2005–2007
This project developed a flexible, adaptable and inclusive accredited training programme for volunteers working with people with disabilities.
The training programme was embedded as part of the normal working pattern of the partner organisations, with the objective that dissemination would lead to its adoption by other organisations. The partners were drawn from countries that had different traditions in relation to volunteering, and provided a strong foundation for drawing on a wide range of best practice. NCBI had previously collaborated with all of the partners of the project through common networks and on a range of research and development activities.
