In the late 1980s after leaving school I was first introduced to NCBI. In 1994 the employment officer at that time, advised me that NCBI will be starting a Training Centre and invited me to join. I did and found it to be the foundations to my life. From that course NCBI arranged for me to do a telephony course. In 1998 I got a full time position working in the reception in the NCBI’s Head Office.
During my time working for NCBI I met some wonderful people which helped me build my confidence. I also made great friends including my fiancée. The fact that I was working meant I could get a mortgage, an ambition of mine to own my own property. I honestly can say if only for NCBI Training Centre I don’t where I would have ended up.
To thank NCBI I decided to jump out of a plane and to join in the NCBI Sky Dive Day. On the 10th September 2016 I went to Clonbullogue in Offaly and met the Irish Parachute club team including my tandem master Vinny. The day was one of the highlights of my life. I felt the jump gave me freedom, all my thoughts and worries vanished, it’s just you and the big blue sky dropping through the clouds. I raised €940 and I would sincerely like to thank everyone who sponsored me for the jump.
