Day activity centres

Summary: NCBI’s day activity centres in North Dublin and Wexford offer a wide range of classes and activities for adults living in these areas who have a vision impairment.

The Iona Centre

Based in Drumcondra, in Dublin, the Iona Centre is a newly furnished building on ground level. It has a fully equipped gym and computer room, as well as many other multi-purpose rooms. It also has a comfortable dining room where lunch and refreshments are served each day. Guide dog facilities are also available and assistance with transport can be arranged if necessary.

The Lochrann Centre

The centre offers services including technology training courses, low vision services, mobility training and various leisure programmes, including ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’, creative writing, photography, yoga, first aid, positive living, sports and swimming, bodhran classes and craftwork.
