NCBI Library unlocks the world of reading to people with sight problems. Check out our new downloadable audio book service. You can now listen to books on your computer, transfer them onto your mp3 player or disc within minutes to enjoy anytime, anywhere. All you need is an Internet connection. There are about 100 downloadable titles available for you to loan, which will be expanding more and more each month. If you have a problem with your sight and would like to use this service, please call us on Tel: 01 8642266.
On a monthly basis, the NCBI Library selects popular audio titles for downloading. Now we would like our readers to help with this selection.
The library stocks thousands of talking books for both adults and children.
We hold the largest collection of large print novels for children in Ireland. The collection of adult large print books also contains titles on all topics and interests.
As with our audio books, we specialise in the production of Irish interest titles in braille.
NCBI’s professional readers read extracts from a wide range of newspapers and magazines, which are recorded in our state-of-the-art studios.
Listen to Audioview online or contact the library to receive a monthly recording of the programme.
Every year, our library produces an audio recording of textbooks from the primary and second level curriculum.
Anyone who is registered with NCBI can join the library by returning a membership form in the post or by telephone.
NCBI Archive project is an archive of material submitted by people who are blind or vision impaired which aims to capture their perception what life is like today in the Republic of Ireland. The topics recorded relate to education, employment, and parenting to name but a few.
