Virtual technology Club 28th June 2018

Virtual Technology Club

Join us from 7:00 pm on Thursday 28th June for our next Virtual Technology Club meeting. The Virtual Technology Club was established in April of last year in recognition of the fact that for many people with sight loss who rely on technology to live an independent life, it can be difficult to travel to access training or support, or to meet other users and share knowledge.

This month we’re talking online security, and are delighted to be joined by Martin O’Sullivan, a Cyber Security Specialist.

Cyber security is in the news daily.  However, the headlines often do nothing to enlighten people about what is behind the story.  and why someone would want to attack a system.

In this talk Martin will discuss some of the methods and tools used by both attackers and defenders of cyber security systems.

As usual we will have time for questions in our open forum and we look forward to an engaging session.

New participants are always welcome, so if you haven’t been involved before, please do join the conversation!

Our Virtual Technology Club is using a meeting platform called Zoom to allow us all to connect and speak together. Zoom has a software client for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, and what’s really great is that you don’t even have to install the software to join the meetings.

Our Virtual Technology Club User Guide will walk you step-by-step through connecting to our virtual meeting room on your computer, phone or tablet using Zoom.
