​ The focus of this workshop will be to further develop the student's orientation and mobility skills with a particular focus on train travel. Dublin Bus Travel Assist staff will be supporting us with this aspect of the workshop. The students will also have an opportunity to interact and socialise with their peers and staff

In this one day workshop, we will work with students on their cane skills including outdoor mobility and road crossings. We will also be covering independent living skills including shopping, menu planning, and food preparation. This workshop will also provide students with the opportunity to interact and socialise with their peers and have some fun!

This online workshop will offer an opportunity for parents and students to discuss all aspects of Assistive Technology (AT)  in preparation for transition to Secondary school with advice and support from AT trainer Mary Byrne. This will be a relaxed information sharing session and chat for parents/gaurdians of babies from birth to 18 months with vision impairments.

Each session will be based on a selected topic with time for parents to speak to each other. There will be four groups in this series, please register your interest for any/all the groups you would like to attend. The series will be run over the next four months on the last Monday of the month at 10.30am online via Teams. It is not necessary for your baby to be with you for this session.

Session 1, 26th Feb: Movement: supporting your baby's early movement.

This virtual meeting is for parents & guardians of children with Cortical Vision Impairment/ Neurological Vision Impairment.  This is an informal meeting that will give parents/guardians the opportunity to come together and share information with each other.

This is the first in a series of interactive online sessions for parents/guardians of children from birth to 6 years old. These sessions are designed to guide you through the early years of your child's development. Dr. Marta Bielawska will share her experience and will be joined by people who have already been along this

The students will also have an opportunity to interact and socialise with their peers and staff will support conversations around the impact of their vision loss.

In this one-day workshop, we will cover safe travel techniques for students with low vision (cane users) The workshop will also include independent living skills including shopping, menu planning and food preparation. It will be a fun interactive workshop with the opportunity to socialise with peers of similar age.

This is the 3rd in our series of transition workshops. The focus of this workshop is Independent travel to and from school and within the school environment. This is an opportunity for 5th and 6th class students to prepare for and discuss the transition into Secondary school.
