Keyboard Shortcuts: How to disable an app from launching at Windows start up

There may be occasions that you notice your computer is very slow at the start up when you first turn it on. This can be due to built-in bloatware or unnecessary apps launching at start up.

To disable an app from launching at start up do the following:

  1. Press Control + Alt + Delete and then Tab until you get to Task Manager and press Enter.
  2. Press Control + Page Down until you reach Startup.
  3. Tab once to the list of apps you might see items such as, Cortana, MS Teams, MS Edge, iTunes helper, etc.
  4. Arrow through your start up apps and choose the one you do not need and then Tab to Disable and Press Enter.
