After a highly competitive bidding process and pitch at IMC15 in Montreal, ChildVision won the bid to host The International Mobility Conference 2017 which is coming to Dublin in June.
This is the 16th conference for Orientation & Mobility specialists, Guide Dog Mobility Instructors, associated professionals such as therapists, researchers and educators in the field of visual impairment. The conference runs in Trinity College from Monday June 26th to Thursday 29th and currently over 28 different countries will be represented. Site visits are planned for Friday, 30th to highlight the work in Ireland of ChildVision, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, National Council for the Blind of Ireland, Fighting Blindness, RNIB and GDBA.
Key note speakers at IMC16 include Gillian Morbey, CEO of Sense International and Dr Fred Schroeder, President of the World Blind Union. The conference will be chaired by John Healy, Chair of the Trinity Foundation Advisory Board , former Chair of Atlantic Philanthropies and currently adjunct Professor in Trinity’s Centre for Nonprofit Management and consults in the fields of philanthropy and foundation management.
There will be over 100 papers following the overall theme of the Conference, Transitions – Moving On, Moving Out. ChildVision is delighted that an innovative part of this programme is inclusion of 20 workshops into an already busy programme, offering a unrivalled opportunity for sharing knowledge and practice ideas.
Registration is open and full programme details including the social programme (which looks promising!) is all available on wwwMC16.com
