We are BrandNew2u, a transition year Young Social Innovators project established in Coláiste Bríde Clondalkin.
Our project is based on the global issue of fast fashion. Fast fashion is the rapid production of inexpensive clothing made by mass-market retailers in response to the latest fashion trends.
This has a direct impact on our climate and is extremely unethical for workers in the garment industry. Our aim is to encourage teenagers to think differently about how they shop.
In particular, we want them to shop second hand and to make sustainable choices We want to showcase how trendy second-hand clothes are and to deliver the message that shopping can be both sustainable and charitable.
We have partnered with NCBI retail to take our project to the next level and reach other communities around Ireland about shopping second hand and upcycling your clothes. NCBI are offering students from surrounding schools the opportunity to visit their local NCBI stores and takeover their shop fronts to showcase NCBI clothes.
Do something worthwhile and run a #BrandNew2u week in your school?
