Junk Kouture & NCBI – a collaboration during 2022-2023 Competition Cycle
Junk Kouture was founded in Ireland in 2010. It has since grown into a global competition with a presence in the USA, UK, France, Italy, and the UAE. Junk Kouture is the world’s largest sustainable fashion competition that challenges young talented creatives between 13-18 years old to make striking and imaginative outfits out of 100% recyclable materials each year!
NCBI, as a sustainability and recycling champion, is delighted to partner with Junk Kouture for the 2022-2023 competition cycle in Ireland starting this September to share knowledge and materials with participating students. The school programme features elements of entrepreneurship, design, engineering, and performance whilst equipping young people with problem-solving, team building, leadership, and innovation skills. With over 3,000 annual participants from Ireland, the programme’s popularity continues to grow year on year. The collaboration between Junk Kouture & NCBI will feature various activities throughout the academic year allowing Junk Kouture designers and alumni to get involved in showcasing their recycled couture designs to their local community and to the wider Junk Kouture community online.
